The Loss of History

Carousel Angels

These angels, carefully packaged were heading to Fashion Island, when the carousel there was being set up in 2008. I could not wait to see the angels being unpacked and the carousel built.

Often when at Fashion Island, I would stop and watch as children eagerly run in between the hand painted horses and other characters looking for the "perfect one" for a great ride. I just read that this lovely Venetian-themed carousel, which had 32 colorful animal figures and two chariots is being removed.

It is sad to see an old world charm like this one leave our community for good. It will be greatly missed!
