Posthumous Portrait Commission

Vignettes are a less formal solution to own an original oil painting at a fraction of the cost of a fully, developed painting. Done either in monochrome or color with the face being more loosely developed; the majority of the painting varies in the degree of finish and has a solid background.

There are various ways to treat a portrait vignette. In this particular instance I have chosen to add a solid background and completely cover the weave of the fabric.
