Brotherly Love Portrait Commission

brotherly-love-before-after

I just finished another portrait commission and quickly wanted to share the painting. As you can see in the original photo there were just way to many hands and fingers and outfits that took away from the boys.

When I paint portraits of children, their faces needs to be what we should focus on when we look at the painting and therefore it's best to do away with anything that might be a distraction. I opted for soft blues and a warm background since my client mentioned that her home furnishings are mainly in dark browns. I think once the painting is framed in a dark brown frame, it will be just lovely.
