Young Buck Work in Progress 2
Share
Over the weekend work continued on the Young Buck. I use Liquin Impasto by Winsor & Newton to mix into my paints in order to get a thick paint consistency. I don't like flat paint and if the subject matter allows it I love to build up the paint to hint add texture. I also found that sometimes a dentist tool or even a large sewing needle is ideal to place blobs of paint here and there. Light reflects and if you ever look at something that is lit by sunlight or even a lamp you will notice that hint of the surrounding color get picked up. Thick paint also created a certain depth on the canvas and as light changes throughout the day will cast shadows on the painting itself. The casual viewer will notice something being different, but most likely never figure out exactly why that is.
