Portrait Gifts - Portraits painted in oil are unique, personalized gifts and keepsakes the whole family will love. This portrait of siblings was gifted as a Mother's Day present and was painted from a regular photo taken at home. 

 A painting hangs on a wall for years to come and has to look nice. That's why the background was replaced by a warm and friendly looking background. The little girl's hair was a bit messy so I removed the strands that had covered her face and gave her a more combed look. 

Every day starts out with a new color palette and paint is applied in stages to build up the likeness. One a client approves the finished painting, a final varnish is applied and the painting is shipped to the client. Since all paintings ship with hanging hardware the painting can be gifted and enjoyed right away. 

For me the eyes are the gateway to the soul and both kids's eyes could hardly be seen in the reference photos. My client send me some other photos as reference and soon the eyes took on shape.
