In the Garden of Whispers Rabbit Painting

I have been working on a new painting titled "In the Garden of Whispers". The subject of the painting is this cuddly rabbit and this time the challenge was to come up with the ways to create a animal portrait. This painting can be ordered as a canvas print as large as 40x40in and therefore I wanted to create a lot of texture and make it a highly decorative piece.

For my colors I chose deep rich browns, gold, silver, grey, orange, purple, magenta, beige and yellows. The image is mirrored on the sides so that the scroll continues.

I also combined several painting techniques such as the very painterly detail of the fur against the drawing of the leaves and stippling effect created in the petals of the flowers.  By playing one technique off the other there should be no question that this is a painting and not a photograph.

Now to the choice of the title. Rabbit in flowers, Rabbit surrounded by Floral Wreath, etc. all sounded way too mundane. After observing rabbits in my own garden, I know that they easily scare away and that me and the kids could only get closer to them if we stayed very quiet and only whispered. That's how I came up with the title "In the Garden of Whispers". Well, what do you think? Do you like the new treatment and my chosen title?
