Another Schnauzer portrait is done. My client wanted to keep the colorful bandana and wanted a pinkish background for the painting. The original photo reference showed the eyes of the dog completely covered by hair. In the painting, I decided to take away some of the hair and painted in eyes.

In my opinion a portrait is not a portrait unless you can show the eyes, whichI like to refer to as the gateway to the soul. My client is gifting this 12x18in painting to a friend and I hope that it will be a great success.
