Dachshund Pet Portrait
Share
There are times when I paint a portrait that I cannot resist smiling. This was the case with this happy looking Dachshund. Although a Dachshund's low and long body doesn't really lend itself for full-on leaps through the air, it did not stop this dog to try.
Dachshunds can live up to seventeen years, which in doggy years is a long life. The breed can have either a smooth, wirehaired, or longhaired coat. Originally the Dachshund was bred in Germany to hunt for badgers. This clever breed enjoys digging holes and romping around. A favorite of many famous people, like Leonardo da Vinci to Pablo Picasso to William Shakespeare.
