Amal 2nd Color Application

amal_2ndcolor_19sep

This is the 2nd color application. If an area is tacky, it tends to lift off, therefore it is important not to hasten things. Every time the face is drying, I try to work on something else like the jewelery.

Using the grisaille as sort of a value road map, the 1st paint layer went on fairly fast, because all I had to do is look at my gray value on the palette and find the corresponding flesh color value and apply.

Of course, with every new application things will seem off and will have to be adjusted. The beauty of this system though is that values change consistently and thereby create a harmonious look fairly fast.

I am struggeling with the cheek on her left side though and am not happy with how this is looking right now.
