Helleborus, sometimes referred to as 'Christmas Rose' or 'Lenten Rose is a native of Corsica and is considered an early bloomer. Plants generally bloom between December and March, depending on your zone(not hardy below Zone 6. Once established, most helleborus make drought-tolerant plants, especially if planted in semi shade in areas of long, hot and/or dry summers.
