Crafting Miniature Furniture for the Ice Cream Parlor
Sometimes ou have to think outside the box to achieve. certain look. 3D printing has it's limitations and skinny bar stools would be one of them. So I looked around the studio to see what could work and found the solution in Fine line caps also known as precision craft glue bottles. The size and shape is perfect to create a 1/24 scale bar stool that is strong yet looks slender.
For this project you need:
- Fine line caps (just the cap part)
- round wafer wood pieces (you can also cut them out of card stock)
- glue
- Acrylic paint
Let's begin~
- Glue to round discs together. The smaller one should sit at the top
- Mark the center of the circle and drill a hole all the way through
- Apply glue and insert the metal part of the precision glue cap into the hole
- Let it sit for a while until the glue has set completely
- Make another disk and glue it to the open part of the cap
- Wait until the glue has dried completely
- Now paint it in whatever color you like
Once the glue is set it is time to paint. I used Arteza Acrylic paints and then added a coat of resin on top to make the chair tops super shiny and give them a more rounded top.
Once placed in the ice cream parlor the fit and look is just what I was looking for.
