Painting with Garlic Oil

Filipino artist Mark Libunao uses garlic bulbs to create watercolor like paintings. He says he saw potential in garlic paste's brown color. After frying the garlic he extracts the oil and paints using different layers. His work sells for around $800 dollars.

Garlic, the indispensable cooking ingredient, is now providing a new flavor for art lovers. A young Filipino artist uses garlic oil to create his paintings. Filipino artist Mark Libunao from a farming village north of Manila is known as the "Garlic Painter."
