Labrador Portrait of Archie

Labrador Head Close-Up

Labrador Head Close-Up

The Christmas commissions are flying out the door. This is Archie whose portrait I recently finished. I thought I took more photos of the finished painting, but this one is the only one I could find. I have been in such a rush to get these paintings to their owners before the holiday shipping madness begins, that I might have forgotten to take the final photos. Oh well, I guess this one will have to do.

The client only wanted a portrait of Archie and when I first saw the Kirkland bed, I thought "Oh my" what am I going to do with that one. However, I worked that baby and added lots of texture and more color into the fabric that I actually ended up being very pleased with the end result. Too bad I don't have the finished portrait to show you what I am talking about.

The background has blues, greens and some deep browns and I added Archie's name on the tag to finish the piece. I can't wait to hear what my client thinks of the portrait. Well, I need to get back to my easel. two cats and two dogs are waiting . :)
