Havanese Portrait

This portrait of two Havanese dogs has been a lot of fun to paint. The background colors are vibrant and bold and contrast nicely against these two light colored dogs.

Havanese Puppy Portrait

The Havanese, a breed of Bichon type, is the national dog of Cuba, developed from the now extinct Blanquito de la Habana. The Blanquito descended from the also now extinct Bichon Tenerife. Wikipedia

Havanese Painting Stages

Here is another painting in progress of two Havanese. It shows how the paint is loosely build up. I don't like it when every painting looks exactly like the other one, so I experiment with different brush strokes and color combinations. I always think every person or pet are so unique that they deserve their own special handling. I also give over to the painting and what starts in one way sometimes takes on a life of it's own and becomes something a bit different. Anyhow, I have to run, I have orders that need to get painted. :)

Below is the finished portrait. You can click to view size and rate options for custom painted portraits.
