I painted this pet portrait of a white boxer for a client who was looking for a special Christmas gift. The gift was intended for a young girl and I decided to keep the background simple so that the painting fits into any room decor as the girl ages.
I used darker greens to highlight the pinkish tones of the boxer's skin. The fur on theses dogs is so short that their skin tone does shine through and I thought to really play it up for a nice contrast. Since I was so busy with portrait orders over right before Christmas, I had no time to post many of the finished paintings. In the upcoming weeks I will be posting more.
