Cocker Spaniel Custom Painted Portrait 520

cocker-spaniel-portrait

My client wanted me to paint this Cocker Spaniel who  has passed on by a front door, where it loved to sit. I made a few changes to the backdrop to make it look more painterly and really played up the flower pot in the front.

The close-up shots show the brushwork and loose, painterly handling of this pet portrait. You can also what the original reference photo looked like. My client mentioned that the dog's coloring had changed a bit over time, so adjustments were made to reflect that.

Finally here is a photo of what the entire painting looks like.
