The oil portrait of this little toddler girl pushed me to really use everything I know as a painter to create both a likeness from an extremely bad photo reference. It was really hard to get this cutie to come out of the darkness and I pray that after a few more changes that this painting can finally be called finished. I could not see half of the face since it was in such shadow, but thankfully my client guided me through and I think it was well worth the many hours tinkering with it. Now all that's left is putting on the final varnish as soon as my client gives the go ahead and I can breathe a sigh of relief of having pulled this one off. :) If you like to order a similar portrait click below:
