Oil on Canvas
My painting of Amal is finally finished. I have received the nicest comment on my Flicker about this painting from Mr. Emmanuel Marcou:
"This is a fantastic artwork. The degree of articulation is only surpassed by the sensitivity of the subject which expresses your extraordinary skill as an artist.
The only similar accomplishment I have seen is the work of the artist Bouguereau from the late 19th century.
Large Detail View
I am trying very hard to follow William Bouguereau palette and for someone to actually recognize a similarity is like "Wau". Of course, I know I am light years away from being anywhere close to the technical skills of W.B., but it's nice to hear a word of encouragement once in a while.
I think every artist has tremendous self-doubt and is overly critical of his/her work (I envy those, who are not). So, Mr. Marcou and all those other strangers that are kind enough to leave me a comment. Your recognition of my hard labors are truly appreciated!
