DIY Table Tennis Rackets from Balsa Wood (Prevent Warping!)

Thinking about crafting your own table tennis rackets? It is easy and fun to do if you use easy to cut materials.
- Trace the shape of the paddle with a pencil on the wood.
- Use a sharp Exacto Knife and gently cut out the shape.
- Sand the edges for a smooth finish
- Paint the paddles any color you likediy
Using lightweight balsa wood is a popular choice, but it can be prone to warping with water-based paints. A great tip for preventing this is to apply a sealing layer of Mod Podge first. This creates a protective barrier, keeping the wood dry and your rackets looking smooth and professional once they're painted and finished!
