Gummy Bears

File:Gummy bears.jpg

My kids love Haribo Gummy bears! These are small, rubbery-textured confectionery. The candy are roughly 15mm long and shaped in the form of a bear. Gelatin based the bears are made from sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavoring, food coloring, citric acid, and of course gelatin. The fun part is that they come in a variety of colors.

The Gummi Bear originates from Germany where it is popular under the name Gummibär (rubber bear) or Gummibärchen(little rubber bear). Hans Riegel of Bonn invented bear-shaped sweets and started the Haribo company in 1922, which produced and introduced its Gold-Bear product in the 1960s. Source: Wikipedia
