This black cat started out with yet another very dark and blurry reference photo. The portrait it one of two commissioned by a client as Christmas gifts. Since siblings will be receiving the portraits of their cats, I suggested a similar background for both cat portraits.
This breed has a very thick grey coat and depending on how the light hits it shows a bit of deep blues. To make the portrait of the cat stand out, I added even deeper blues and purples.
