Sand Blowing in the Wind

I am taking part in the Adobe Photoshop Daily Creative Challenge and took part in a project on how to age an image. I recently saw this pinwheel at Target and that got my creative spinning in all different directions.

To start out the entire background was removed and then overlays were applied to get an aged look. Below is the first image I created for the project.

And then, well then I just got really creative and kept working until I got this digital painting with tons of texture. I titled it "Sand Blowing in the Wind" and just had to see what it looks like as a canvas print.
