Pro Life Animal Shelter needed for Laguna Hills, CA
Imagine Benji, my four pound Yorkie lost! Picked up by a dog catcher and transported to Orange,about 30 minutes away from home. While we would be frantically searching for him in our neighborhood, he would be in danger of being killed in a far away dog pound!!!
Laguna Hills citizens are uniting to have their voices heard!A group of volunteers started a grass roots group more than 2 years ago to try to get better animal care services for Laguna Hills, because they were so distressed with the treatment of animals through the County Shelter.
This group has observed the Mission Viejo Shelter, the San Clemente, Irvine and the Laguna Beach Shelters for years and felt that after 15 years of Laguna Hills being a City there is no reason why it's citizens have to continue to be stuck with the services of the old, over crowded County Shelter in Orange, that offers minimal to poor services and continues to kill animals for lack of space and funding.
This group has now grown and spread to the other 4 cities left in So. OC that continue to be contracted with the old County Shelter, Aliso Viejo, Lake Forest, Rancho Santa Margarita and San Juan Capistrano. Progress has been very slow with members of the Laguna Hills City Council, but concerned citizens hope to combine the 5 cities to create one Pro-Life Shelter in So. OC to serve everyone.
Concerned animal lovers are asked to contact their City Council Members to let them know they want the Council Members to pursue this JPA with some or all of the other 4 cities in So. OC and that they want it to result in a new Pro-Life Animal Shelter here in So. OC.
