Minimalistic Cat Portrait 519
It's funny how everyone has a favorite look. Some like me to paint their pets in very elaborate landscape settings and others opt for a very minimalistic look. I was told that this cat loved a certain spot in the house. She would lie on top of a wall niche and just gaze down at what was happening below.
The face of the cat was in deep shade and there is a lot of yellow gray shading in the original reference photo. I decided to use texture and color to punch up the painting and I hope that it will be a hit with my client.
