Update on Child Portrait
I have been busy creating the forest for this painting. Using the underpainting as a guide, lots of little strokes of colors have been added to create the lush undergrowth, leaves, trees and ground cover. AT this stage everything is still very loosely handled since it is important to get the light and dark areas of the painting right.
The grey scale underpainting is still showing and I had to really stop myself not to start touching the child just yet. I am trying to methodically approach each step so that I won't lose the underpainting.
