🛠️ Rev Up Father's Day: The Ultimate Garage Kit Bash! 🛠️- Tool Cart
Every garage needs a tool cart and this kit comes with one, which is super cute. The wheels on the trolly actually work and the entire body is made out of wood that is already colored in an orange red.
Although the drawers do not slide out the pieces are easy to assemble. The wheels were 3d printed and just snap together.
The top has plenty of space for tools. But as I mentioned in prior posts - this is a kit bash and I am going to age it considerably.
I scanned in my trolly and the used photoshop to play around with aging Thinking about what rust stains would look like on a metal cart and where you would see most of the wear and tear on such an item. This is what I came up with ...
I remembered that tool cart drawers often have a silver steel edge and added that with Silver Acrylic paint. It helps to use some painters tape or washi tape (which is narrower) to get a clean edge and not to accidentally go over parts you don't want to cover. To give the cart that grime look I used dark umber oil paint diluted in Liquin. A lot of wipe on ~ wipe off and voila - the cart has aged by years and looks much more realistic.
I did not like the the tools on top of the tool cart so I decided to change them out.
