Copper Moscow Mule Mugs are Amazing

Moscow Mule

I had never heard of Moscow Mules and after some reading learned that the Moscow Mule became popular around 1941 at the Cock 'N' Bull in Hollywood. A bar owner found himself unable to sell cases of Smirnoff Vodka and cases of house made ginger beer. Trying to clear out the stock the bartender Wes Price started to experiment.

Sometimes the stars align just so, because at the same time that Wes Price was experimenting with drinks an immigrant named Sophie Berezinski came to California with 2,000 copper mugs she had designed in her father’s copper shop in Russia. She carted them around L.A., trying to sell them. She found willing buyers at the Cock ‘N’ Bull who wanted something to make their drink stand out. The combination of Vodka and ginger beer served chilled in copper mugs became a hit.

I recently received two copper Moscow Mule Mugs from Estilo to write a review. I am amazed at how cold drinks stay in these mugs. I knew copper is great for cooking, but I had no idea that it was so great for keeping drinks chilled as well. The mugs from Estilo are  superior quality copper with high quality stainless steel lining and easy-grip brass handle and feel very solid.

Capacity: 20 fl. Ounces. Set includes 2 mugs. Dimensions: 3.2 inches diameter by 4 inches high.
