Schnoodle Portrait 522
A Schnoodle is a cross between a schnauzer and a poodle. Schnoodle is a portmanteau combining the two breed names. Gee Gee here has lots of very tight curls and I played this up by creating a lot of texture. The pink makes the painting look soft and adds to the sweetness of this dog's overall expression.
Here you can see how the paint is slowly build up to create more and more texture, making the portrait look lively.
Here you can see the before and after. The photo was blurry and did not show any details such as the eyes or definition of curls. In the painting all that has been added.
I used a lot of light colors such as pinks, beige, white, light ochre and light browns and slowly built up the color layers, following the fat over lean painting method.
