Redo of a lost painting

cat eyes

My client and I were so disappointed when the precursor to this painting went missing. We tracked the painting to her front door, but then someone decided to steal it. Well, fortunately I work with a very good insurance company who quickly reimbursed us for the painting and I got to redo the cat portrait.

You would think that redoing a painting would be fast, but the exact opposite is true. More attention goes into getting everything to look like the first time and that just takes longer. Hoever I think the 2nd version turned out even better than the first. Just look at this face!

cat tail

The tail has lots of texture and almost looks three dimensional~ I can't wait to hear what my client thinks of this painting.
