Since March of this year, I have finally made a commitment to attend an Open Studio twice a week in order to become faster at rendering the human form as it shifts and moves about. These sessions last for three hours, with multiple breaks for the model and leave me always yearning for just a little bit more time to develop the painting further.
To catch a person's likeness within three hours, requires a huge amount of concentration and a deep understanding of the human anatomy!
Every session so far is as much a battle against the clock and a will of force against my own short comings, as it is the triumph over little battles conquered.
