When I was in Japan, we ventured to a city about an hours ride outside of Tokyo called Kamakura to visit a temple. On the way there I found this awesome little store that offered a variety of beautiful papers. Of course I dragged a huge variety back home...
These papers are stored away (me not really knowing what to do with them. The wonderful response to "Masquerade" prompted me to do a line of these pen and ink drawings on this super special paper. This paper which is a very pale blue has gold speckles and silver threads in it. The incorporated gold leaf in "Petit Papillon", brings out the color of these threads.
