Papillion Portrait of Chance
Share
Chance is a Papillon mix and was the smallest of a pack of 7. He was originally owned by a man who was killed in a car crash. When this little Papillion mix was placed in a foster home he escaped and ended up at the pound. For a small dog, Chance had a very hectic life and finally found a loving and caring home with his current owners who adopted him.
The Papillon, also called the Continental Toy Spaniel, is a breed of dog of the Spaniel type. One of the oldest of the toy spaniels, it derives its name from its characteristic butterfly like look of the long and fringed hair on the ears.
My client took advantage of the "Pay What you Want" - I paint you print option. This digital portrait shows how I incorporate my skills as a traditional trained portrait artist to create life like looking dog portraits. Below you can see the work in progress shots that show how the painting started and progressed. This little Papillion has a lot of blues and mauves worked in to his fur. I love his intelligent looking eyes and would have loved to meet this very special dog.
