This listing is for an original, hand-painted portrait of a beloved Cavalier King Charles. My lifelike custom portrait paintings are made to my client's specifications and often undergo several changes until the client is 100% satisfied. My client wanted to have the name added to the front of the canvas and requested a cloud-like soft and neutral background.

Everything that does not belong in a portrait was removed and replaced by the background you see. It is often a guessing game as to how painterly a client wants a painting to be, so I build up the layers thinly. This paint can always be added but is difficult to remove. So in this painting, the curls in the ears and fur were made to have the most texture. I have a lot of paintings to finish so off to the easel it is.
