Smoothie made with Fresh Start Frozen Fruits
Smoothies are a great way to consume vegetables and fruits and feel like you have treated yourself to a nice treat at the same time. As much as I like to eat fresh produce, sometimes I just don't have all the ingredients handy and that's why I keep some frozen fruits in the freezer. Recently I had to restock and I picked up Rader Farms Fresh Start Sunrise Refresh Fusion Frozen Fruit/Vegetables from Wal Mart. Sunrise Refresh Fusion is a blend of strategically chosen fruits and vegetables picked at the peak of ripeness and sold in bags in the frozen food section.

I picked up the Blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, kale and spinach combination, which is only one of the three varieties Rader Farms offers. This nutritious blend provides a good source of dietary fiber and is an excellent source of vitamins A and C. Since 1941, Rader Farms has been a family-operated berry farm rooted in the Pacific Northwest. Here they grow and source only the finest produce, which is picked at the peak of ripeness, frozen and certified as Gluten-Free.
Kale, Spinach, Berries - all deliciousness mixed together!
Here is one of my smoothie recipes using berries, kale and spinach. Try substituting the berries, kale and spinach with 2 cups frozen fruits (you still need a fresh banana) and see if you can tell a difference.
INGREDIENTS
- 2/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 ripe banana
- 2/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 large frozen strawberries
- 1 cup spinach leaves
- 1/2 cup kale
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy, coconut, soy, almond)
- 1 tablespoon of honey, or to taste
DIRECTIONS
Pour everything in a blender, cover with the lid and whirl until smooth. You can add more milk and sweetener if needed.

I wanted to check with an outside source how the Nutrition facts all add up and found this for you to see.
I personally only add honey if I make the shake for my family. I think the berries and banana are usually sweet enough as is.
So would I buy Fresh Stars Sunrise Refresh Fusion Frozen Fruits again. Absolutely! I am actually thinking about trying out the other flavors as well!
