Bedroom Makeover

Miniature bedroom flooring

Work continues on the interior of the Victorian Mansion.

This time around I have decided to keep the wallpaper. It is a soft white with a blue pattern that works well with the dark wood furniture that I will be adding later on.

The house comes with an opening for stair. I love the look of those stairs but they take up too much room. Therefore I decided to add a wooden floor made out of pop-sickle sticks that I had in my stash.

I used Liquin which is a painting medium to quicken the drying time of oil paints. This medium when applied without any color act like a gloss varnish and brings out the color of the posickle-sticks.

Victorian fireplace

I looked at several Victorian style fireplaces and turned a fireplace I had into a marble looking fireplace to resemble this reference more.

I think I need to add the furniture to the room to see if the fireplace is a good fit. I have a feeling that a wooden fireplace might look better. More to come soon !
