Portrait of Woman with Cat

The painting of the woman and her cat is finished and on it's way to the client. I just wanted to show the added texture. I like to build up the fur and that usually takes some time to fully dry. If you like to learn more about how to order your very own portrait click here.

I have been working on this portrait for a while now and wanted to quickly share an update. I still have a lot of work to do to get the details punched up. At this stage the overall look for this painting is established. Now it's time to let paint dry and then focus on the details.

Taking cues from the background of the reference photo, the background colors for the painting are chosen. The Tabby cat looked much paler in the reference photo and was looking down. I punched up the color to give the animal more volume and changed the gaze to a more upward look.
