"Cavalier King Charles"
6 x 6 inch
Oil on Panel
I have been so busy painting, that I totally forgot to upload more photos of the work in progress. Well, this little "Noodle" a very small Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was a submission for the "Pooches with Attitude" contest on my fan page. Very different in technique and paint application, layers were built gradually to give the impression of longer hair.
This breed belongs to the toy group of dogs, but I'll bet their sense of smell is as good as any larger breed. The nose picks up the reflected light of the surface that Noodle is lying on.
The King Charles has such soulful eyes. I think I could paint eyes every day of the week, because it gives me such a rush when I see a flat initial drawing take form and have a set of eyes look back at me.
