I am working through the weekend catching up with all sort of things. Here is a portrait I have started of a dark colored labrador. Because of the dark coloration I have lightened up the side that was in shadow considerably and am breathing life into it through the use of reflected light from the background. Still have ways to go before I can call it finished, but it's getting there.
My client wanted to have the painting be less painterly so I went ahead and tones down a lot of the highlight that had been added. You can see the final version of the painting below and find out more about ordering a similar portrait for yourself.
