This is the stove for the Victorian Mansion. Work is progressing at a steady pace.

To add patina to the kitchen many different techniques can be applied. Here, I wanted to make the stove look well used and started by applying Antique wax in Ash Grey to see how it will look on the metal parts of the stove.

Next I used a Distress Crayon to darken the beige parts of the stove. In  real life these areas wood have been enamel and old enamel is often chipped.

I had some miniature pots that I aged with a raw umber wash. The cooking utensils were given a coat of oil paint. I wanted them to have a wam orangish hue since it's a complimentary color to the blues.

If you follow my work you know that I like to repeat colors in a composition. I wanted to repeat the white in the border of the shelves and decided to make a dish towel out of air dry clay. To give it a bit of a pattern the clay was pressed onto a design, cut to size and draped over the bar to dry in place. Later on a drop of glue was added so that the towel stays in place.

Next will be the sink area which will sit on the other side of the room.
