Sweet Peas

Sweet Peas can grow rather tall if they are offered the right kind of support. At the Carlsbad Flower Fields, this concept was taken a step further and by creating a life size maze.

Just like a maze created from shrubs the entire maze was first lined with an upright mesh. Then the seeds were planted and the peas trained to grow up right. The dense packing of what seemed as mainly flowers filled each row to such an extend that you could not see where you were and truly had to find your way out of the maze.
