Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade

Every new year's day January 1st, the city of Pasadena holds their annual Tournament of Roses Parade. People come from all over come to marvel at these elaborately decorated floats of flowers.

These images taken by Graham King via Flickr show the Sierra Madre float, as volunteers where putting the final touches on the float. Each and every flower, leaf, seed, etc. is painstakingly glued to the shell of the floa. It is truly a labor of love and I have heard that volunteers work just about round the clock to get their floats ready for the big day.

The smells and sights must be just heavenly - what a wonderful way to start the New Year!

WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
