Flowers at Local Markets

On Sunday I decided to pay a visit to my local Farmer's Market. I was surprised to see how much cheaper a bouquet of flowers was in comparison to flowers sold at stores. The variety consisted of flowers that were in season, but extra care was taken to make sure that petals do not get damaged during transport.
Some vendors even sold young plants and herbs that could be planted in the garden or containers. Just make sure to bring enough cash with you and maybe a cart. By the time I bought my flowers and fresh produce, with camera in tow it was becoming quite a juggling act not to drop everything.
How to Care for Cut Flowers
When you bring your flowers home, cut the stems under running water at an angle and immediately place them in vase filled with fresh water. Change out the water every couple of days and snip off any of the spent blooms. Keep your vase in an area where the flowers are not getting any full sun. They wilt faster and it is better to keep them in shaded areas of your home.
