Shelves of Time - Part of Timeless Melody Fifijoy Book Nook Kit Assembly

Book Nook Book Shelf

Shelves of Time

With steady hands, the wood takes shape,
A cozy home for books to drape.
Each tiny shelf, so neat and true,
Awaits the tales both old and new.

A place where stories softly rest,
In miniature, yet built with zest.
A bookcase small, yet grand in grace,
Holding whispers time won’t erase.

I’m excited to share that I’ve teamed up with Fifijoy to bring you their latest book nook kit, Timeless Melody! 🎶✨ This beautifully crafted miniature captures the charm of a vintage music room, complete with intricate details and warm brown and beige tones.

This kit has laser cut wooden pieces that are already colored and numbered. Each sheet has a letter that corresponds to the instructions given in the assembly guide. Pieces pop out easily, however sometime there are very tiny tabs and it's best to use an Exacto knife to pry the pieces out rather than risk breaking something off.

It helps to do a dry run first to make sure that the pieces are oriented the right way. The above holes need to face to the front so that the tabs for the cabinet doors can be fitted in and to make sure that the door open up.

This kit comes with little decorations that also have tabs that get inserted into the corresponding openings. Since the sides and back are not finished I like to coat them with a marker. It just makes for a more finished look.

The little door had a habit to swing inwards. I used a bit of left over wood and glued it inside the cabinet. This way the doors can't close all the way.

These tiny books are already premade and just snap into the cabinet shelves.

This side attached to the big book shelf.

This is the other side. The bottom tab gets attached to the floor later on.

The books on the shelves look so cute!

This part was a bit tricky to get in. Use the hammer included in the kit to make sure everything is flush.

This piece finishes off that side and gets attached to the floor later on as well.

These are the pieces for the book stand that sits on top of the smaller shelf.

Some more decorative pieces are added and we are ready to make the two drawers for the unit.

In the kit the drawers are slightly ajar.

The kit comes with lights and one of them gets wired through the holes as shown. You can hide this wire by taping it down and putting decorations in front of it.

As I was looking at the pieces I wondered  if there was a way to get the colors to look more vibrant. It just so happens that the Prismacolor Tuscan Red Marker  is a perfect Mahogany color. If you look at the tiny image on the left you can see the before and after. I also added this marker over all the furniture areas that needed a bit more sprucing up. A book nook is a display in a very narrow space, so anything that can help light bounce off the surfaces will make the inside look more interesting. I also made sure to add a bit of glitter to the sides of the gold clock and made the side of the instrument a darker brown. Next I will work on a corner unit for the other side of the room.

The entire building process from start to finish is shown below:

If you like to make the books look vintage you can go over the edges with a marker or just bend the corners to make the books appear used.
