50 Feet Green and Blue Garden Hose Reel
I got very excited when I saw this lightweight, 50 foot garden hose reel by Oak Leaf. First off it is super cute looking! Compared to regular sized reels this one is overall small, measuring 14.2x14.2x14.6 inches with a weight of only 11 pounds that's with the hose attached. However I am short and when I want to wash the car or need to water an area where my regular hose does not reach, this smaller unit is perfect and easy to handle.
There is some assembly required to connect the handle to the sides, but it took only a few minutes to put together. The garden hose is reinforced with knitted polyester and is flexible and lightweight. The reel is made of hard plastic and can be left outside. I live in southern California where the sun takes it's toll on plastic, so I don't know how well the reel will last if the sun hits it all day. However I am planning to mount it to the wall by the side of the house and for that purpose this lightweight reel should be perfect.
The unit comes with a faucet adaptor, hose connector, multi tap connector, bend connector, and a water stop hose connector. The company even includes two spray nozzle, one has 8 settings great for watering plants and the other has a jet stream which is great for cleaning chores. I had trouble attaching the quick connect fitting 3/4" to my water faucet, but a quick trip to Home Depot solved that problem and it was an easy fix. When I tried out the hose, I did not experience kinking, but then again the hose is very new, so time will tell.
Overall this garden hose reel is ideal for small jobs and for places where space is an issue. I like how lightweight the reel is and hope that it will last as long as some of the larger units I have had in the past.
