I just finished a new pug portrait. Pugs belong to a group of short nosed dogs, which have been bred by the Chinese mainly as lap dogs for the nobility. The Lion dog, Pekingese and the Lo-sze which was the name given to Pugs a long time ago.

After a heroic Pug called Pompey saved the life of a prince, the breed became the dog of choice by the House of Orange-Nassau dynasty. Who would have guessed a pug can be a hero?!
