Creating Miniature Roses: Handcrafted Floral Arch for an Island Wedding

Miniature Roses that fit on the tip of a pen

This floral arch is part of the shadow box of the Island Wedding that I am working on.

I am making the roses out of air-dry clay, which I then color with watercolor pens. I will go in later with oil paint to give the petals more definition. For now, I am aiming to cover the arch following the same color pattern of the original arch.

These roses are so tiny that I have to use dental tools to get the details I am after.

As you can see, the roses fit on the tip of a pen. I am varying the sizes and finishes of the roses for a realistic look. Some are fully open, and others are buds at different stages of growth.
