Navitas Organics Goji Berries
I recently tried Navitas Organics Goji Berries that I ordered via AMAZON. The berries were incredibly moist and wonderful to be eaten raw or mixed in with trail mixes or sprinkled over salads. They can be steeped in hot water and used as a mild tea or soaked for 10 minutes and used in smoothies. Use them how you would use raisins, the possibilities are endless and experimenting with them by adding them to your cookie dough or oatmeal will give you a new found appreciation for this slightly tart tasting berry that can be enjoyed on their own for a Vegan-Friendly, Gluten-Free, and Low-carb option! These mildly sweet, sun-dried berries have been used in ancient Chinese medicine to support longevity. Goji berries are a potent source of antioxidants — one serving contains 140% DRV of vitamin A. They are loaded with essential amino acids, vitamins C and are high in protein and fiber. Additional vitamins and minerals include, but are not limited to: vitamins B, E and D and minerals such as copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, niacin, phosphorous, and potassium.

Goji berries have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for 2000 years are are considered a superfruit because they help boost the immune system, improve brain activity, protect against heart disease and cancer, and improve life expectancy. The Goji berry, or wolfberry is the fruit of either the Lycium barbarum or Lycium chinense, two closely related species of boxthorn in the nightshade family and looks like a skinny reddish shriveled elongated berry.
