Tiny Crochet Magic: Making a Mini Hat from Cross Stitch Thread

Who says cross-stitch thread is just for embroidery? I grabbed two strands of cross-stitch yarn and the tiniest crochet hook I own to crochet in the round and form a perfect little circle.

Once it started taking shape, I draped it over a marble—just the right size—to let the sides flare out into a dainty brim. A touch of watered-down glue helped the hat keep its form. After it dried completely, I gently lifted it off the marble and added a few charming details: a delicate ribbon around the crown and a small down feather for a whimsical finish.
