Designing the Lucky Day Coffee Shop Shadow Box Ramp & Facade
Aktie

When you are working in miniature scale, every single millimeter counts. Real estate inside a shadow box is extremely limited, meaning every element has to fit with absolute precision to create a convincing illusion of a three-dimensional street view.
Behind the scenes of every custom commission, there is a mountain of design work, sketching, and prototype testing that takes place long before a single brush touches paint. Sometimes, the tiniest little component presents the most intricate set of challenges and takes a surprising amount of time to get just right.

3D Printing the Ramp & Building the Brick Walkway
For the Lucky Day coffee shop storefront, I needed a seamless transition leading up to the entrance. After working through the initial layout and sketching out the dimensions, I decided to 3D print the ramp base to ensure structural accuracy.
Right now, I am actively working on adding the hand-crafted brick walkway leading up to the shop. Balancing crisp architectural lines, realistic textures, and the tight spatial constraints of the box requires patience, but seeing the street facade slowly come together piece by piece makes every test print and adjustment entirely worth it.
Hopefully, I will be able to show you the finished ramp in a couple of days.
