How to Make an Ice Cream Parlor Counter

I thought I share some close-up photos of how I made the ice cream parlor counter.

The pieces were initially a pale yellow and  I decided to paint them a teal color with pink highlights. I want this little shop to be cute  and very happy looking.

The opening you see here is where the tubs for the ice cream go. The tubs are actually prints of ice-cream that are framed.

However to get the ice cream to look like ice cream I used a couple of tricks.

Using tiny pieces of clay and shavings of chalk  I gave the ice cream some

texture and dimension. Then I chopped up some micro fruit and added tiny bits of fruit pieces, a well as a few whole pieces for aded realism.

Then I covered it carefully with a gloss medium, This

set everything in place and gave it a nice sheen. I just realized I forgot to take a photo of the finished ice cream tubs. After I uploaded the photo I thought the ice cream tubs could look better. I might go back in and make it all look creamier. I will post that photo as part of the final reveal.

Here you can see the teal colored counter, which I think goes better with the flooring.
